The redesign of SGU’s navigation focused on condensing a complex academic hierarchy into a clear interface that eliminates the extra clicks. By transitioning from deep nesting to an expansive mega-menu on desktop and a streamlined off-canvas accordion for mobile, we successfully minimized the “click-depth” required to access programs and academic information like tuitions and scholarships. To drive conversions, the “Apply” and “Request Info” actions were transformed into persistent buttons, pinned to a sticky header on desktop and integrated into a fixed bottom navigation bar on mobile, making sure that the primary CTAs are just a thumb-click away.
