Residency Map Project

To visualize the university’s expansive reach, I developed an interactive residency map using Mapbox GL JS that manages thousands of placement data points without breaking a sweat. The experience kicks off with a high-level view of the U.S. and Canada, equipped with a smart search bar and fluid zoom capabilities that let users dive from a continental overview down to specific city clusters. Each pin is interactive; a quick click triggers a detail-rich card built as a custom Mapbox popup that displays the hospital name, specific program, and medical specialties. To ensure the data is accessible for those who prefer scanning text over browsing a map, I also designed a toggleable list view that sits on top of the map interface, providing a synchronized, responsive layout that works just as smoothly on a mobile screen as it does on a desktop.
